The Appointments and Promotions (Academic) Committee at its meeting held on Wednesday, 18th April, 2007 OBSERVED that a large number of Academic members of staff are yet to have their appointments confirmed.

The Committee thereafter DIRECTED that Academic Staff members in this category who have satisfied the conditions of service on confirmation of appointment, as stipulated in the Conditions of Service Guiding Senior Staff, should apply for confirmation of appointment.

Please note that, the criteria for Confirmation of Appointment as stipulated by the Appointments and Promotions (Academic) Committee at its meeting held on 7th, 16th, 18th and 23rd of February year 2000, respectively is stated as follows:

(I) A member of staff employed as a Graduate Assistant would be due for confirmation of appointment when he had attained the level of Lecturer II and the effective date of the confirmation would be from when he/she became Lecturer II.

 (II) A member of staff employed as an Assistant Lecturer would not be considered for confirmation of appointment until he/she becomes a Lecturer II and must have spent a minimum of two (2) years in the University.

(III) A member of staff employed as a Lecturer II would be considered for confirmation of appointment after working in the University for two years.

 

All applications that comply with the above stated guidelines, already considered at the various Appointments and Promotions (Academic) Committee of Colleges / Schools / Faculties, should be forwarded to Academic Staff Establishment for further processing.
