It is gratifying to note that departments/units have been able to provide services for one another. In the past, such services were rendered by outside bodies at outrageous cost to the University. In particular, the Information and Communication Technology Centre has rendered commendable services to departments within the University. The University appreciates such noble contributions to its development.
However, it is noted with regret that the process of payment for such internal services has been very cumbersome. It has, therefore, been decided that, henceforth, there should be no payment for the services rendered internally by one department to another. To meet the need to compensate the departments/centres providing services, they are to make provisions in their annual budgets for the cost of services to be rendered.
This new guideline takes immediate effect. In order to empower the service departments/centres, the University will allocate special grants to such units to be able to meet their service obligations between now and the beginning of the next fiscal year.
All Deans, Directors and Heads of Departments/Centres are requested to kindly comply with this directive for the success of this new arrangement.
